Nepal Final Words & Forgotten Photos

Incredible, majestic but damn right frustrating (similar to India)! That's how I would describe our time in the homeland of the Buddha. Frustrating because of the weather letting us down a lot of the time (it's what happens when you travel in the monsoon season) which gave us only a glimpse of what this country's glorious snowy mountain peaks have to offer, also frustrating because we don't have loads of money to make the most of all the adventure sports and activities like mountain flights around Everest and paragliding, along with the potential treks which all look incredible! The food didn't impress us much, it's either average and expensive western food or the bland but plentiful dal bhat and that's pretty much it! We found the everyday comings, goings and chaos of Nepal similar to India. Despite pretty much having the same negatives as India, we feel we made the most of our time in the month we spent here, with the lake city of Pokhara and the 4 day trek of Poon Hill being the highlights! There was only one place we feel we missed out on, and that was Chitwan National park, the tropical rainforest is home to white rhinos, and normal rhinos are in abundance there, as well as other amazing animals like lions! It also was great to witness and be a part of the traditional Nepalese mountain culture, staying in a little farmhouse, using a bucket to wash with and drinking rice moonshine it was definitey an experience! We survived several nerve racking road ventures in travelling around this almost broken country when it comes to the roads, we witnessed a lot poverty and the dusty pollution of the capital, but the friendliness of the people and the spectacular natural beauty of Nepal countered that! It's safe to say we WILL definitely return some time in the future, we feel we have unfinished business!!
